Six Women Complete 340-Mile Run from Los Angeles to Las Vegas

In an extraordinary feat, six women ran 340 miles from Los Angeles to Las Vegas as part of The Speed Project, an unsanctioned ultra-marathon.

The all-female team, including runners Anya Culling, Jessica Van Droogenbroeck, Laura Donnelly, Savannah Mukeshi, Mary McCarthy, and Amy Chapman, faced numerous challenges during the 50-hour race. They took turns running three-kilometer segments, supporting each other throughout the journey.

Despite grueling conditions, including a storm in Death Valley, the team crossed the finish line together. “We completed the hardest relay in the world as six women,” said McCarthy. The team hopes their effort will help close the data gap for women in endurance sports.
